The blessing of sharing Bible stories for children

We have been vacationing in Michigan and Canada in July, seeing a lot of friends and family. One afternoon, I was about 300 yard from shore in Lake Huron with a niece and one of her third cousins. They were diving for "good" rocks on the sandbar. I laughed and said it sounded like the story of the tares and the wheat in the Bible. They gave me blank looks so I told them the story. Turns out, neither of these 14-year-olds had never been to ANY Sunday school. I shared the story of the Good Samaritan, David and Goliath, and Daniel in the lion's den. They loved the stories -- and told their folks they want to go to Sunday school. I plan to follow up with letters with more Bible stories!
