Severe burn healed through prayer

Just before I attended your lecture "Texting God: Effective Short Prayers" Saturday, May 12th in Portland, Oregon I was power washing our sidewalks.  The power washer ran out of gas.  I thought my husband had filled it so I was a bit mad that I had to fill it myself, start it again, and do all the work myself.  Starting it was a difficult processes.  In my anger I put my hand on the exhaust vent and it was very hot.  I experienced pain and a large blister formed.   I grumbled as I started back my washing.  The pain was very severe so I realized it had to get rid of it along with my anger.  Both were no part of me as God's precious daughter.  They both left after I prayed.  But I was still afraid I would lose the skin and have a return of the pain as I had had last time I was severely burned.

At your lecture I prayed the "NO" prayer.  I knew that God, all good, left no room for reoccurring pain or loss of skin.  I was sure that I was completely healed during the lecture.  I had no more pain.  The next time I noticed my hand there was no blister, only normal skin.  Thanks for showing me how simple and powerful prayer is.

Let the light in

The other evening I was thinking about light and dark. I was standing on my front porch. The light from the living room was streaming through the open blinds and illuminating the front yard. The thought dawned on me (Pun? I think not) that we never open the blinds to "let in some dark". It's a funny thought, "Open those blinds and let some dark in here. It's too bright." When we open the blinds there is only more light, out there in the yard, the land, the world. We don't lose any of the light that is already in the room. The room doesn't get darker when we let the light "out". This proves that dark is nothingness. It can't spread. It can't propagate. It can't affect light at all. It has no power to do anything. There are no "Power and Dark" companies. Only "Power and Light" companies. There is only light.

In the always, there is light.

Accuser not there

I was inspired by this morning by this passage from Science & Health by Mary Baker Eddy:
"... the accuser is not there ..."  568:29

It brings to mind the supposed ultimate showdown between the serpent and Truth. It always tends to be, in a way, anti-climatic in the end, as the dragon never shows up. Where is the accuser? Where is the plaintiff? He's not here, your honor. Case dismissed, then. Court adjourned. You are free to go. So we go. Singing and laughing and praising God.

In reality, the accuser turns out to be nothingness. The realization of this absolute truth brings forth (from the side note to that section) a "Paean of jubilee," and that is one amazingly beautiful sound.

I recognize this as I've experienced it multiple times. That's how it works. And I'm so grateful.

There has never been any written work as right as the entirety of Science and Health.
