Harmony restored with grandchildren

Earlier this month, I was having difficulty getting my two young grandchildren settled down for their afternoon nap.  I became very still, listened for God’s presence, relaxed, and started singing the childhood song, Jesus Loves Me.  Kennedy (8 months) started relaxing in my arms while Madison (2 years old) listened intently and become very quiet on the couch.  Within a few minutes, Kennedy was asleep in her bed, while Madison was resting on my lap.  Harmony was restored and we all woke up refreshed two hours later.

Over the years, I have felt closest to God when I take the time to be very still, listen closely to God, and then “sing the right tune”.  More recently, I started studying Christian Science, and came across Mary Baker Eddy’s definition for Heaven as “Harmony; the reign of Spirit; government by divine Principle; spirituality; bliss; the atmosphere of Soul” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 587).

As my spiritual understanding of God grows, I am learning that we can experience Heaven (harmony) in the here and now. As the words in the song I Will Come Before the Lord expresses (Album Inhabiting Eternity sung by Kathy Glover and Char Beck): Day and night, You are my song And we sweetly sing together To worship and praise Thee Singing within Thy house forever. Day and night, You are my song.

No coincidence with God

A couple of weeks ago I reached in my pockets for my Bluetooth earpiece and couldn’t find it. I looked and looked for it and even texted my daughter­in­law to look around their place. All to no avail.  Several days later when I was picking up my granddaughter from school, I got an Angel Thought from God to park a bit further away and walk to the school by the way that we usually walk back.  After a few steps I saw the earpiece lying in the grass.

After recharging it most of the functions still worked.  Taking it back to the store they were reluctant to replace it.  Returning the next day knowing that it would be resolved harmoniously, another manager was more than willing to replace it.
By the way, they mowed the grass the next day.  Surely, it would have been destroyed by the mower had it not been recovered.

Healed of scarlet fever

In our family there have been five generations attending Christian Science church services.  My grandmother was the first.  My grandpa had scarlet fever.  They lived in a small northern Wisconsin town at the time.  A lady gave my grandma a copy of a Christian Science Sentinel and asked her to read it.  She said that if my grandma wanted to verify the authenticity of those healed in that Sentinel to call them.  His obituary had already been written, but the story had a happy ending. My grandpa was healed immediately after my grandma contacted a practitioner in Minneapolis.  There was only one other family in New Richmond, Wisconsin who knew anything about Christian Science.  Every Sunday there was a church service in either my grandparents' home or the woman who had introduced my grandma to the Sentinel.  My mother who was maybe ten years old played the piano and she played the hymns at each service.  That to me is Christian Science of the heart.
